Hadith part 10: Follow those who will come after me, Abu Bakr and Umar (4)
Previous          Next

Many narrations were concocted by the enemies of Ahlul Bayt (also called al-Nawassib) so as to conflict with the authentic Sunnah of the prophet that was relevant to Ahlul Bayt, and downplay, if not destroy, the true role and importance of Ahlul Bayt after the prophet. These people sold their Hereafter with the worldly things.

Many of these narrations were concocted to give Abu Bakr and Umar a far more elevated and praiseworthy position than they really deserve. So far up that they became better than Ahlul Bayt, that is Ali, Fatima, al-Hassan and al-Hussein. However, History had played its role in recording what is needed, and despite the corrupted pens that wrote it, to disclose their true nature and easily reject such fabrications.

The narrations of the rightly guided caliphs, the adherence to Abu Bakr and Umar, and that of the companions being like stars were all concocted so as to conflict with Hadith al-Thaqalayn. Their intentions are clear. They wanted the people to stop following Ahlul Bayt as they (Ahlul Bayt) presented a dangerous threat to their rulership and wealth. Of course, I am talking about Mua'awiya and his successors, who intended and desired to tarnish the true reputation and position of Ahlul Bayt, make them less popular, and at the same time, make Abu Bakr, Umar and Uthman the true leaders and Imams of the Ummah whom all must follow and stubornly adhere to.

While Hadith al-Thaqalayn commands us to adhere unconditionally to the Quran and Ahlul Bayt:

The messenger of Allah said: "I am leaving for you two precious and weighty Symbols that if you adhere to BOTH of them you shall not go astray after me. They are, the Book of Allah, and my progeny, that is my Ahlul-Bayt. The Merciful has informed me that These two shall not separate from each other till they come to me by the Pool (of Paradise). Watch out how you treat them after me."

The narration of the rightly guided caliphs claims that we must adhere to allegedly Abu Bakr, Umar, Uthman and Ali (although unnamed):

Adhere to my sunnah and the sunnah of the rightly-guided successors after me. Hold on to it and cling on to it stubbornly.

The next narration claims that we must adhere to Abu Bakr and Umar:

Follow those who will come after me, Abu Bakr and `Umar

Do you see the contrast?? But History was here to tell us that great calamities took place between Ahlul Bayt and the first three caliphs. The above lies are the kind of narrations that the zealous followers of ibn Taymiya rely on to justify their belief. In fact, they are all the followers of Mua'awiya and his successors who established the policy of insulting Imam Ali in the pulpit of over 70,000 Mosques for over 90 years. Bear in mind that Ali is their fourth rightly guided caliph! They love Ali and they also love Mua'awiya and Yazeed!!! This is frankly worse than the concept of Trinity.

In a different version of the fabrication, you will find the following portion, which is found in Hadith al-Thaqalayn:

They (Abu Bakr and Umar) are cord hanging down from the sky to the Earth, so whoever adheres to them...

It is widely agreed that the verse of al-Mubahala was revealed in honor of Ahlul Bayt, that is Ali, Fatima, al-Hassan and al-Hussein:

...The third occasion is this) when the (following) verse was revealed:" Let us summon our children and your children." Allah's Messenger (may peace be upon him) called 'Ali, Fatima, Hasan and Husain and said: O Allah, they are my family.

Now look at the fabricated version, which they attributed to Ja'afar al-Sadiq and his father Muhammad al-Baqir:

When the verse "Let us summon our children and your children...." was revealed, Allah's Messenger (may peace be upon him) called Abu Bakr and his son, Umar and his son, Uthman and his son and Ali and his son.

Do you the desperation in misleading the Muslims and reducing the true status of Ahlul Bayt to nothing???

Here is another one for you. There is a known Hadith about Ahlul Bayt where the prophet likened Ahlul Bayt to the stars of the sky:

The stars are the security of the inhabitants of the sky and my Ahlul Bayt are the security of the inhabitants of the earth.

And here is the fabricated version:

Verily, my Companions are like the stars (nujum) in the sky; whichever of them you follow, you shall be guided rightly. The disagreement of my Companions is a blessing for you

It is well-known and widely accepted that the most beloved people to the prophet are his daughter Fatima and her husband Ali:

Aisha was asked about the most beloved person to the prophet. She responded Fatima. Then Aisha was asked: "what about among the men?". She responded: "Her husband Ali."

Now, to you the fabricated versions:

Aisha was asked about the most beloved person to the prophet. SHe responded that it was Abu Bakr, then Umar, then Abu Ubayda ibn al-Jarrah."

In another fabrication, where Aisha claimed that herself and her father were the most beloved people to the prophet:

Even the Hadith of the city of knowledge was tempered with:

I am the city of knowledge, and Ali is its gate.

They fabricators turned it into:

I am the city of knowledge and 'Ali is its gate, and Abu Bakr is its foundation, 'Umar its walls and 'Uthman its roof.

Here is another version of the fabrication:

I am the city of knowledge and 'Ali is its gate, and Mua'awiya is its garden.
